Cheques to be made payable to Epworth Equestrian Ltd ------------------------------------------------------------------------- STEPH COOPER Having spent some 35 years working with Horses I can say, I still get as much satisfaction as the first day I rode a horse and decided this was for me. However in those days how to pay for one or where to keep it was always going to be a problem and this was to be the case for some years to come. My first Horse was a 16.2” Irish Hunter Matty a superman, we would compete show jumping and eventing locally with some good wins to our name. After buying my second horse it was time to find our own place, luck was on our side, bungalow and 6 arcres and yes a third horse, Glen again a hunter type, this was the horse which turned me to Dressage and at first for all the wrong reasons I had a bad fall jumping him which resulted in my leg being broken, for 9 months and I sat looking at the horses through the window. In that time, the down side of having livestock we lost Glen through a accident in the field, having got over the interest in jumping horses had gone. But I still was very keen to produce my own horses on the flat and the interest in Dressage just developed. Oh yes we bought another horse William a 3yr old who with training turned out to be a 17.2” Grand Prix Dressage Horse and I was so proud the day I was asked to ride for GB on him. Since then I have had a number of horses which were well known on the Dressage circuit. At high level, for those of you in Dressage world no doubt you will have heard of them namely, Bronte King of Magic, Moonspinner, and my team at the moment Patriot, Parcival, and Hexenminster. Along side my training of horses I also have a large number of riders which I give lessons to who are keen dressage competitors. I get great pleasure when they win and they do often. Over the years I have also tried to give something back to the sport I love, therefore I have upgraded to a list 2 dressage judge, and on an average year I judge in the region of 40 to 50 competitions.
